Fireplaces are self contained units that require open framing or none at all and are most commonly installed on new construction or major remodel sites. An insert is a small self contained unit that is placed inside of an existing wood burning fireplace. These are most common when the customer doesn't want their wall ripped out and they just want a new type of heater in their existing fireplace.
